Beep, beep, beep...

If you come to our house from now on you will hear that annoying little chime, "beep, beep, beep" every time the door opens. Lucas has officially learned how to unlock the front, garage, and back doors and open them. The other day I heard Lucas open the front door so I ran over and locked it, thinking I had just left it unlocked the day before. Then a few minutes later it happened again, so I thought maybe I was crazy. But, it's for real. Lucas can unlock the door and run away if he wants.

As soon as "Buy Lots of Stuff August" rolls around, Ben will be heading to Lowe's to buy more locks for the doors so our son can't run away. Maybe he can buy some of those drawer latches while he's there.

Not to be devil's advocate, but isn't No Buy July about not buying things you want, just what you need? It does make for an entertaining story.

You're right, Scot. But, I'd still rather wait out the next 10 days. The alarm isn't that annoying... I just have to watch Lucas instead of watching soap operas all day.

Oh it's so fun to have a little explorer baby huh! My doors at home are all very tight to the frame because of our crazy winters--we have to have them like that. So when the dead bolt is lock you have to really push against the door and then unlock it. So I've never had to worry about Boston--at least so I thought. We went to my parents house and he was escaping all over the place. They not only have very loose doors but the pull handles and not twist. Boston was running and escaping like a conman! Fun little boys we have.
