Hey all you smart people, Does anyone know how to get a business license that will allow me to sell things baked in my own kitchen? I don't know if it's even possible in Austin, but no one will call me back... Thanks!
I want to sell toffee, cakes, cupcakes, brownies, etc. But do it in a really cute gift basket/tower way... I just don't want to get in trouble with the law :).
this is random, but you may be able to find some info at the library. i'm always amazed at the resources there. and yes, you definitely don't want to get in trouble with the law. my mom tried selling lumpia (filipino egg rolls) to people once, and she really did get in a lot of trouble for not having a business license. i can't remember if it was a fine or a pretty stiff warning, but i remember it being pretty bad.

My suggestion is not to get a business license until you are making enough to pay someone to do your taxes! It's just not worth it! Good Luck!
I don't have a clue..but yum what are you going to sell?
